Elise stood in front of the classroom as the teacher introduced her. She listened to hom drone on and on and on about how the students could learn from her since she was from somewhere with such a rich rich history and blahdy blah blah blargha. Elise wondered dully if he would ever shut up. His mouth seemed to be a never ending fountain of word vomit. It was almost fascinating except for her seemed to be confident Elise was something that she wasn’t. After all, just because she moved to this wonderful little educational facility from the mysterious land of the pharos, doesn’t mean she was an expert on Queen Hatshepsut or Ramses the Great.
But thanks to some sort of Christmas miracle (which was odd considering Christmas was still a long ass time away) he finally quieted down and allowed Elise to finally introduce herself. She bowed lightly with her hands crossed in front of her. “Hajimemashite.” She smiled in Japanese, wishing her accent wasn’t so obvious. “Watashi wa Nefer Elise desu.” She bowed again. “Doozo yoroshiku.” Japanese was a funny language. All she had said in that mouthful was “How are you? I’m Elise Nefer. It’s nice to meet you.” At least she wasn’t writing her name on the board. Her katakana skills were terrible and her kanji was even worse.
The teacher nodded and indicated an empty seat for her to take. She nodded and sat down, observing the other students. It was an odd feeling, back in Egypt she felt very alone and isolated being the only vampire that she knew. But now she was surrounded by other students like her and students of other abilities. It was kind of nice yet kind of a freak out at the same time. At least she didn’t have to worry about religious fanatics trying to kill her though. That was always a plus. She pulled out her pencil and started pretending to take notes when really she didn’t care about what the teacher was saying.

Victor looked up from the book he was reading only to be met with the sight of one of the pretty girls he had ever seen. ”Wow,” he whispered quietly to himself. He wanted to say hi or something witty but his mind was drawing a blank. Elise was her name? He would have to keep that in mind. He really wanted to say something but she made him feel stupid. Not that she was super amazingly intelligent or anything. He was just so nervous about just saying something, anything would be good right now.
He blushed bright red as she sat down next to him. He really wanted to say something but he was too damned shy. He hated the way he always choked up when he talked to people. This was so ridiculously gay that he couldn’t even think of words to describe just how stupid he felt right now. ”Konichiwa,” he whispered to her with an awkward sad smile. He always sucked at things like this, you know, dealing with people things.
He let out a sigh and leaned back into his chair trying to act cool but coming across as more awkward and sad than anything. He looked kind of like a lost puppy who couldn’t find his way home. He always had that sad sulking expression though. He didn’t know how to relax around people. He felt so dumb every time he tried to. He was stiff and awkward as he tried to seem cool. He couldn’t stop blushing either. It was so uncomfortable.
”So you’re new right?” he said dropping his Japanese. He wasn’t very good at the language to begin with. He always had such a hard time in class because he didn’t speak Japanese very well.

Elise raised an eyebrow at the boy sitting next to her. Not to be rude or anything, but he looked like a dork. Though that wasn’t a bad thing., it at least meant there was a good chance he wasn’t some random pervert. ”I am.” She replied back in English, another language she had accented. But hey, she knew more English than she did Japanese. After all, she learned English at her old school since it was one of the most universal languages, and only started learning Japanese when she learned that she was transferring here. “I just moved her from Cairo.”
She looked between the boy and the teacher and then back at the boy.“Anyways, what’s your name?” She asked, genuinely more interested in the dork sitting next to her than the teacher who could put a caffeine addicted gerbil to sleep. And since she was a cheerleader, she knew plenty of caffeine addicted gerbils. Besides, she might be able to find a decent study buddy in him at the most. He looked like someone who was more capable in the academics than she was.
The teacher gave a glare and yelled at them to shut up. Elise rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at him while his back was turned. “It’s not like he was teaching anything useful.” She whispered again to Victor. “What are we learning again? The benefits of the architecture in the entrance hall? I mean…that’s where we meet up right? What else could a class there teach?”

Victor could just tell that he was coming across as a totally lame loser butt. He wasn’t at all be cool and sauvé like he wanted to. He always sucked at talking to pretty girls. He got all jittery and stiff… well… stiffer than normal. After all he had that tendency to look like he was sulking all the time, which them came across as arrogance and on and on. He felt stupid and started blushing again. “I’m really annoying aren’t I?” Victor said wincing a little, his cheeks still bright and flushed.
He wanted to be cool like he was sure all her awsome popular friends were. He was a pathetic book nerd and he just couldn’t talk to her without sounding dumb. ”M-my name?” Victor asked surprised? He hadn’t expected her to be interested in his name even slightly. He figured it was one of those study buddy things probably. ”My name is Victor,” he said with an embarrassed smile. God he was so awkward.
Victor let out a squeak of surprised when the teacher yelled in his general direction. Teachers didn’t yell at him for any reason ever! This was so embarrassing. Victor laughed quietly at Elise’s comeback. ”That was witty,” he whispered to her.
”I don’t really get this class either. I guess its supposed to be like a history of the school or something like that. It’s pretty useless but I needed an elective and everything else useful was full pretty much,” he said smiling weakly.
